Some cities just feel different when you arrive as a couple. Streets seem prettier, meals last longer, and even getting lost feels like part of the plan.
To find the cities that really deliver on romance, Mozio looked at where couples are already dreaming big and where those dreams are easiest to turn into memories. We analyzed wedding-related Google searches by city, then combined that with Tripadvisor data on romantic restaurants, hotels, and things to do.
From this, we’ve been able to reveal the cities are most closely linked with romance in people’s plans and which are best set up to help couples enjoy it once they arrive.
Why save the champagne for later? Book a private ride and add onboard champagne in selected cities to kick off your romantic trip the moment it begins.
Simply add it at the end of your booking under ‘make my trip better’.
From candlelit canals to rooftop riads, these cities come up again and again when couples search for romantic trips. Italy takes the top spots, but the list also includes destinations where romance may look a little different, but feels just as special.

Romance score: 9.65 out of 10
Venice sits comfortably at the top of the list, and it has been earning that reputation for centuries. It is searched for weddings more than any other European city, with over 63,000 wedding-related searches each year – more than twice the study average of 25,000.
On the ground, Venice delivers in both volume and vibe. The city has nearly 149 romantic restaurants and 153 romantic hotels per 100,000 people, alongside more than 100 romantic things to do. That means shows in the Teatro La Fenice, scenic strolls along the Canal Grande, and candlelit dinners are never far away.
Romantic idea: Take a private gondola ride later in the evening when the canals are quieter, then wander into a small neighborhood wine bar for cicchetti and a final drink.
Romance score: 7.86 out of 10
Florence proves that romance can still feel grand without being overwhelming. This is a city that fully leans into beauty, art, and indulgence, yet keeps everything close enough to enjoy at a relaxed pace.
With almost 80 romantic restaurants and 67 romantic hotels per 100,000 residents, Florence is packed with intimate places to eat and stay. One restaurant, Osteria Vecchio Cancello, was even chosen to celebrate a wedding anniversary, with the reviewer saying “the restaurant is beautiful inside… very romantic for sure.
Romantic idea: Bring a bottle of bubbly up to Piazzale Michelangelo before sunset. Watch the city turn gold, then stroll back down into town for a relaxed late dinner.
Romance score: 7.50 out of 10
Marrakesh brings a different kind of romance to the table, one that feels immersive and a little bit magical. The city scores especially highly for romantic activities, with over 120 per 100,000 people. There are also more than 123 romantic hotels, four times higher than the study average of nearly 31 per 100,000 people.
One of these includes Riad Dar Anika, which couples have described as “a beautiful place with warm, welcoming staff. The pool and rooms are cool and delightful and perfect for a romantic stay.”
Romantic idea: Book a traditional hammam experience for two, then head back to your riad for a rooftop dinner as the city settles for the night.
A romantic trip feels better when it starts smoothly. After a flight, the last thing most couples want is to figure out local transport or negotiate prices at the curb.

As romantic trips often mark some of the most meaningful journeys couples take, we wanted to understand which cities around the world are most closely linked with romance and best set up for couples once they arrive.
To compile this list, we drew on various articles, including travel blogs and articles.
We used Google Keyword Planner to determine the number of global Google searches for the term "wedding in [city]" between December 2024 and November 2025 and selected the 15 most searched terms for further study.
We then took the number of 'romantic' restaurants, 'romantic' hotels, and things to do for couples from Tripadvisor and normalised these against the population (using figures from World Population Review) to find the number per 100,000 residents.
Finally, we created a normalised score out of 10 for each factor, and then calculated a combined overall ‘romance score’.
